Dunedin's most serious strength and conditioning facility. 24/7 access, small group classes, and coaching that actually moves the needle.
No lock-in contracts. Cancel or change your plan anytime. Every membership includes 24/7 gym access.
Iron & Oak opened in 2019 with one mission: build a proper strength facility in Dunedin. Not a cardio bunny warehouse. Not a circuit-training franchise. A real gym with real equipment and coaches who actually know what they're talking about.
Over 600 members train here now — from complete beginners finding their feet to competitive powerlifters and rugby players. We programme for your goals, not a generic class template.
Barbell-focused strength training. Squat, bench, deadlift — structured progressions that will make you genuinely stronger over time.
High-intensity metabolic conditioning. Kettlebells, assault bike, sleds. Short, brutal, and extremely effective.
Snatch and clean & jerk technique with skilled coaching. Suitable for those wanting to learn or improve their Olympic lifts.
Full-body high-intensity interval training. Minimal equipment, maximum effort. Good for when you want a sweat and not much else.
Structured mobility work, soft tissue, and movement patterning. Often the missing ingredient in people's training.
Competitive powerlifting training and meet preparation. Coached by NZ-level competitors. Numbers go up here.
"Best gym I've ever trained at and I've been lifting for 12 years. The coaching is elite, the programming is smart, and the members push each other in the best way."
"I was a total beginner and was terrified walking in. Jake made me feel welcome immediately. Six months in and I've done my first powerlifting comp. Still can't quite believe it."
"The equipment is top tier and the 24/7 access is genuinely used — I train at 5am and there's always a few others in. The classes are hard but the coaches know what they're doing."
No credit card. No commitment. Just come in, try the classes, use the gym, and see if it's right for you. Most people sign up on day three.
